David Dawson, OD joined the AxessPointe family in January of 2022 and brings with him over 25 years of optometry experience. Dr. David Dawson completed his undergraduate studies at the Ohio State University from 1990 to 1993. He was admitted early into the Ohio State University College of Optometry, after completing only three years of prerequisite work. While performing his clinical responsibilities, he completed a twelve-week externship program at the Chillicothe Veterans Administration Medical Center. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997.
Upon graduating, Dr. Dave began practicing optometry in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Additionally, he began working part-time for the Ohio State University College of Optometry as a clinical instructor. In 2004, he was hired as a full-time clinical faculty member of the College of Optometry. In his position as Coordinator of the Primary Vision Care Clinic, he supervised the instruction of multiple optometry students. Among his responsibilities were providing students with clinically relevant and current medical knowledge, as well as rendering care in an educational setting.
In his spare time, Dr. Dave enjoys spending time with family and gem cutting (faceting).
